I spent 22 years of my life in the Czech Republic where I was born. I studied at the High School of Business and became an accountant for Ford Motor Company after getting my high school diploma. After two years, I found out that accounting is not for me and I wanted to explore the world.
Since I always loved kids, I decided to come to the United States and work as an au-pair. I spent the next 2 years taking care of kids and learning English. I really liked the experience and I learned a lot.
It took me another 3.5 years to get my Bachelor of Business Administration degree with concentration in Computer Information Systems Science. I was always a tech person and enjoyed working with computers and technology. I volunteered to be a teacher’s assistant in several computer classes at my university. I also offered to tutor students who did not understand the lectures. I became more confident and really enjoyed working with other students. That is when I decided to get my Master’s in Educational Technology.
I did a lot of research and eventually I found Boise State University. I read through the website, read forums where alumni recommended the program, compared the program to others, and finally decided that this is the best one for me. I do not have too much teaching experience, but I am sure that the program will be a good fit for me anyway. It will be challenging, but I look forward to that and I am ready to work hard. My goal is to finish the degree by 2013. So, let’s get started!
